Training

The Teacher Mentor Centre (TMC) is the hub of professional and personal development for all faculty members of the school. The centre is committed to bringing inspiration, innovation and joy into every teaching and learning practice in school. Teachers are empowered to become confident, responsible, innovative, reflective and engaged practitioners. The centre helps faculty members to inculcate the APL values and align with the Cambridge Teacher Standards. Aside from providing personal mentoring sessions the TMC, along with a team of trainers, organises in-house training programmes.

The training programmes are largely related to pedagogy and skill-based requirements of teachers. These sessions are designed on an experiential and interactive format. The centre also works closely with schools and other institutions that seek bespoke enrichment programs for their teachers. Based on requests and individual needs, personalised plans are created to cater to their requirements.

Ikigai Lab

This is a physical space in the TMC that is being developed based on the Japanese concept of “ikigai” celebrating joie de vivre, inspiring teachers to live life in celebration of each moment. Here, teachers keep their daily deliverables aside, and engage in little reflective self-help activities. Reading materials, reference books, and activities to relax the body, calm the mind and calibrate emotions are provided for faculty members. The objective is to empower teachers to emerge as inspiring role models radiating with inner awareness, and a joy for learning.
